The Earth Repair Foundation and the Environment Program of the United Nations Association of Australia (NSW) Inc are lobbying for an International Food and Tree Growing Race, instead of an arms race, on the basis that 'what is now proven was once only imagined'. The emblem showing a rifle’s transformation into an abundant food tree is a modern interpretation of the ancient quote: “... and nations shall beat their swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks ... and neither shall they learn war any more”. Isaiah  The motivation behind the project is: Every hour throughout the world, over 1600 people, most of them children, die from hunger and poverty-related diseases, and millions of others struggle to survive without life’s basic necessities of clean water, food, shelter, and health care. Further, global warming and climate changes are causing ecological disasters in many areas requiring concentrated asistance, while the global military budget is costing humanity approximately US$160 million dollars every hour and increasing.  Remembering that we are all here on Earth now, together with the rest of humanity, orbiting the Sun as part of the Solar System in the Milky Way Galaxy in the infinite and eternal universe, it is obvious and clear that now is the time to make war a thing of the past. We invite you to visit ERF's shop and help us sow the seeds for a sustainable future for all. The goal is to successfully empower the majority of people of all nations to learn about and adopt Permaculture* as one of the world's most necessary and honourable employment activities towards growing increasing quantities of appropriate trees for climate stability, and providing an abundance of organic edible plants and living foods for everyone. Every nation will progressively transform their military spending, resources and technical expertise, into helping this constructive and productive community advancement initiative to proceed. |
